Charlie Fajkus
Charlie Fajkus (born March 4, 1957) is a retired American soccer midfielder. He grew up in Cicero, Illinois, and starred at Wheaton Central High School before playing college soccer at Indiana University from 1975 to 1978. He scored 38 goals and made 38 assists for the Hoosiers and helped Indiana reach the NCAA finals in 1976 and 1978.
Professional career: Fajkus began his pro career in 1979 with the Chicago Sting of the NASL, where he played until 1984 and helped the team win the 1981 NASL championship. He also played in the NASL indoor and MISL versions of the game, including a stint with the Golden Bay Earthquakes in 1984, and later with the Kansas City Comets (1985–87) and a final season back with the Chicago Sting in 1987–88. Across all clubs, he played 397 games and scored 136 goals.
International career: He earned three caps for the United States national team between 1982 and 1985.
Legacy: Fajkus is a member of the Illinois Soccer Hall of Fame.
