Sivaji (Telugu actor)
Sivaji, born Sontineni Sivaji on 30 June 1971 in Chilakaluripet, Andhra Pradesh, is an Indian actor and voice artist in Telugu cinema. He began as a Gemini TV editor, then moved into acting after being offered a role in a TV serial. He appeared in small parts in films like Kushi and Indra and did early voice work for actor Nithiin.
His breakout as a lead came with Missamma in 2003. He went on to act in films such as Adirindayya Chandram (2005), Satyabhama (2007), Mantra (2007), and Taj Mahal (2010), with later titles including Court – State vs a Nobody (2025) and Dhandoraa (2025). He won the Nandi Award for Best Male Dubbing Artist for the film Dil.
In 2023, Sivaji participated in Bigg Boss Telugu 7 and finished as the second runner-up. Politically, he was with the Bharatiya Janata Party from 2014 to 2015, leaving due to ideological differences. He also undertook a hunger strike to demand Special Status for Andhra Pradesh, a key issue after the state’s bifurcation. Sivaji hails from Chilakaluripet in Narasaraopet, Palnadu.
In 2025, he made controversial remarks about actress Nidhhi Agerwal, which sparked outrage.
