Charlie Barnett (actor)
Charlie Barnett (born February 4, 1988) is an American actor from Sarasota, Florida. He studied acting at Juilliard and has been acting since 2006.
He is best known for playing Peter Mills on Chicago Fire (2012–2015). Other leading roles include Alan Zaveri on Russian Doll, Ben Marshall on Tales of the City, and Gabe Miranda on You. He also appeared as Yord Fandar in The Acolyte and Ian Porter on Valor. In 2019 he joined Arrow for its final season as John Diggle, Jr.
Barnett was adopted by Bob and Danee Barnett. His adoptive mother is from Utah with Swedish ancestry, and his adoptive father is a boat builder from Minnesota. He grew up on a sailboat near Longboat Key, Florida, until he was seven. He found an interest in theatre at age six with the Sarasota Youth Opera. He attended Booker High School, took part in the Carnegie Mellon Musical Theater Summer Program, and graduated from Juilliard in 2010.
He realized he is gay at age 13. His hobbies include sailing, Ms. Pac-Man, and classic cars. He is a fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears, and he has faced alcohol addiction. Barnett has lived in New York City, Salt Lake City, and Chicago, and currently resides in Los Angeles. While filming Chicago Fire, he lived with co-stars Joe Minoso and Yuri Sardarov.
