Chalcosyrphus anthreas, the yellow-banded leafwalker, is a rare syrphid fly (hoverfly) found in eastern North America, including Canada and the United States. Like other hoverflies, they can hover almost motionless in flight. The adults are often seen on flowers, where they drink nectar and gather pollen for food.
