Mohit Ul Alam (born 13 December 1952 in Chittagong) is a Bangladeshi writer, poet and professor. He was the vice chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal, Mymensingh, and now teaches English at Premier University, Chittagong. He is a Shakespearean scholar.

Alam earned a Master’s in English from the University of Chittagong, another Master’s in English from Lakehead University in Canada, and a PhD from Dhaka University. He has taught at Chittagong University and served as dean of the English and Humanities Department at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He founded and chairs the Department of English Literature and Language at Premier University, Chittagong.

He has written more than 30 books across fiction, poetry and nonfiction, including works on teaching English. He also writes columns in Bangla and English newspapers and was a syndicated sports columnist for Prothom Alo during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. He has edited Crossings: ULAB Journal of English Studies.
