Cedric Edwin Peerman (born October 10, 1986) is a former American football running back who played in the NFL. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft and also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals (2010–2017). He played college football for the Virginia Cavaliers.

Peerman was raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, and grew up on his family’s tobacco farm in Gladys. He attended William Campbell High School in Naruna, where he was a standout on both sides of the ball and set Virginia’s career scoring record with 708 points. He also excelled in track, winning state titles in the 100 meters.

At the University of Virginia, Peerman redshirted in 2004 and developed into a versatile back and returner. He finished with strong numbers in rushing, receiving, and kickoff returns, and earned a sociology degree in 2008.

In the NFL, Peerman found his niche with the Bengals. While he contributed as a runner, he became well known for his work on special teams, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2015. An elbow injury in 2016 put him on injured reserve, and a shoulder injury in 2017 ended his playing time. His NFL career totals include 349 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 13 receptions, and 123 receiving yards.

Personal life: Peerman is married to Dr. Hagar Elgendy, and they have five children, including twins. He also completed a pastoral internship in 2012.
