Cecil Frederick Tate (1 May 1908 – 7 August 1997) was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire in 1928 and for Warwickshire from 1931 to 1933. He was born in Gillingham, Kent, the son of Fred Tate, who played one Test for England in 1902 and later coached Derbyshire.

Tate was a right-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler. He made his first-class debut for Derbyshire in 1928 against Essex, with a top score of 21 in a drawn match. That season he played four matches, scoring 48 runs and taking two wickets. After a break from first-class cricket, he joined Warwickshire, appearing in six matches in 1931 and one more in 1933. He batted at the tail for Warwickshire and, while his runs were modest, his bowling was stronger; he took eight wickets at 51.12, with a best of 3 for 65. He also played for Warwickshire’s Second XI.

Overall, Tate played 11 first-class matches, scoring 82 runs at 9.11 with a top score of 21, and taking 8 wickets with a best of 3/65, plus five catches.

He died in Burton upon Trent in 1997, aged 89. His brother Maurice Tate had a long Test career for England and many years with Sussex.
