Catholic Church in Antigua and Barbuda
The Catholic Church in Antigua and Barbuda is part of the worldwide Catholic Church under the Pope. The country has one Catholic diocese, Saint John's-Basseterre, which is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Castries. About 6,930 Catholics live in Antigua and Barbuda, out of a population of about 100,000. The bishops are part of the Antilles Episcopal Conference. A papal ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, the Apostolic Nuncio, was first appointed on December 15, 1986.
