Carlsbad Poinsettia station is a COASTER commuter rail stop in Carlsbad, California. It serves the Poinsettia and La Costa neighborhoods and is the southernmost COASTER station in Carlsbad, about four miles from Carlsbad Village station. The site is near LEGOLAND California and McClellan-Palomar Airport, with transit connections to both.

Location and facilities: Address 6511 Avenida Encinas. Coordinates 33°6′33″N 117°19′9″W. The station has two side platforms and two tracks, with parking and accessibility. It is in fare zone 1. NCTD BREEZE buses 444 and 445 connect here.

History: The station opened on February 27, 1995, when COASTER service began. Before COASTER, the Santa Fe Railway operated a flag stop called Ponto at this location. Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner briefly stopped at Carlsbad Poinsettia from October 2013 to October 2017 but stopped due to low ridership.

Renovation: From May 2018 to February 2020, the station underwent a $34 million renovation. The project extended the platforms to 1,000 feet, raised them for accessibility, added a pedestrian underpass, fenced the tracks, realigned the tracks and platforms, and installed new signage and canopies. The renovation was completed in February 2020 (visible by April 2020).
