Carlos Subero
Carlos Ingver Subero (born June 15, 1972) is a Venezuelan baseball coach and former player. He is the manager of the Hanwha Eagles in the KBO League.
As a player, Subero signed with the Kansas City Royals as an undrafted free agent in 1990. He spent five seasons in the minor leagues with the Royals, Pirates, and Rangers organizations. His last year as a player was 1997 with the Meridian Brakemen of the Big South League.
Subero began managing in 2001. He led the Gulf Coast Rangers for two seasons, then guided several minor league teams: Clinton LumberKings (2003–2005), Bakersfield Blaze (2007), Birmingham Barons (2008), Inland Empire 66ers (2009), Chattanooga Lookouts (2010–2012), and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (2013). In 2014 he managed the Huntsville Stars, and in 2015 he led the Biloxi Shuckers to the best record in the Southern League and earned Manager of the Year honors. He also managed the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League in 2015, guiding them to the league’s best record.
The Milwaukee Brewers hired Subero as their first base and infield coach in December 2015, a role he held through the 2019 season.
Subero also coached the Venezuela national baseball team at the 2019 WBSC Premier12, where Venezuela went 1–2. On November 27, 2020, he was announced as the manager of the Hanwha Eagles in the KBO League, a position he holds. Subero is married and has three children.
