Captain Ultra (Kyaputen Urutora) is a 1967 Japanese space adventure TV series in the tokusatsu style. Produced by Toei and aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System, it ran 24 episodes from April 16 to September 24, 1967. The show follows Captain Ultra, an intergalactic superhero who fights dangers in a pulp-fiction sci‑fi world. It’s loosely based on Captain Future, a concept by Edmond Hamilton.

The series was created as a short filler between Ultraman and Ultra Seven and was part of Toei’s 1967 lineup. It has been released in Japan on home video formats (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD) since the 1980s. A 2005 manga adaptation by Shunji Obata was published, and some fans compare its look to Captain Scarlet. The cast includes Hirohisa Nakata as Captain Ultra, with Nenji Kobayashi, Jiro Sagawa, Yuki Jono, and Ichiro Izawa among others, and narration by different actors across episodes.
