Bob and Sally is a 1948 American drama from Universal Studios, directed by Erle C. Kenton. It's about two families dealing with love, trouble, and hard choices.

At the hospital, Mr. and Mrs. Wright wait for their daughter Helen to give birth. The doctor tells them the baby is born blind because Helen had syphilis. Helen had separated from her husband Jim because of his drinking. The baby dies soon after. Jim is found drinking in a rough part of town and thinks about his past.

Earlier, Helen’s sister Sally and her boyfriend Bob were sixteen and not ready to marry. Mrs. Wright wouldn’t talk to Sally about sex.

Months later, Helen returns from a brief marriage and decides she has separated from Jim. Jim comes home and they talk; in time, Helen and Jim reconcile, but Jim relapses later and they quarrel, though they eventually make up.

Meanwhile, Sally and Bob fall in love and Sally becomes pregnant. They decide Sally should have an abortion because they are too young to marry. Bob helps pay a doctor, but is arrested for stealing his mother's ring. Sally has the abortion, becomes ill, and cannot have children anymore.

Sally and Bob decide to marry anyway with their families’ support. Dr. Carey offers guidance to the young couple.

After the wedding, Dr. Carey visits Helen and tells her that Jim has been helped and wants to return. He brings Jim in to reconcile with Helen once again.
