Calliaghstown Well
Calliaghstown Well, also known as St. Columbkille’s Well, is a holy well and a National Monument in County Meath, Ireland. It sits beside a road off the R150, about 4.5 km south of Drogheda and the River Boyne, and about 5 km west of Julianstown.
The site has long been a place of pilgrimage, and a traditional pattern took place there each year on 9 June. Nearby is a statue erected perhaps in the mid-18th century, called St Colm Cille. The statue is about 1 metre tall and made from oolitic limestone (similar to Bath stone), wearing a mantle and crown rather than the usual monk’s habit.
