Rutherglen Football Club, nicknamed the Redlegs, was a country Australian rules football team from Rutherglen, Victoria. It began in 1877 and was a founding member of the Ovens & Murray Football League (O&MFL) in 1893. The team wore navy blue jumpers with a white RFC monogram and played at Barkly Park.

The club won 15 premierships in the O&MFL: 1895, 1896, 1898, 1899, 1901, 1903, 1904, 1907, 1909, 1910, 1912, 1914, 1915, 1935 and 1954. In 1907 Lake Moodemere merged with Rutherglen, and the club became known as Rutherglen FC. In 1910, with only three teams in the league, Rutherglen won the premiership. World War I paused competitions from 1916 to 1918, and both the club and the league paused during those years.

In 1924 Lake Rovers joined with Rutherglen, forming the Rutherglen Rovers seconds, which played in the Chiltern & District Football Association from 1924 to 1933. The senior Rutherglen team continued in the O&MFL. The club produced players who went on to the VFL, including Fred and Rupert Hiskins and Greg Tate, who coached the 1954 premiership team.

In 1979 the Redlegs merged with Corowa to form Corowa-Rutherglen Roos, continuing in the O&MFL. A notable 1954 moment was Jack Hayes winning the Stawell Gift, as part of the season that saw Rutherglen win its 15th premiership—the club’s best-ever total.
