Boris Carloff
Boris Carloff, born Milan Havrda on 17 September 1974 in Brno, is a Czech electronic musician, singer, composer and producer. He studied classical violin and formed his first band, Palm Beat, in 2003. He has worked as a producer for other Czech acts and chose the stage name after the actor Boris Karloff. His solo career began with the EP Good Stuff in 2004 and his debut album The Escapist in 2012. The Escapist won the Apollo Award for Best Album and its songs reflect the deaths of his brother and father; it also features guests Doug Yowell and Ghetto Priest. He was nominated for several Czech Anděl Awards and won Video of the Year for Falling and Best Electronic Album. In 2014 he released Morphosis, produced with Icelandic producer Barði Jóhannsson.
