Boot Scootin' Boogie
Boot Scootin' Boogie is a country song about line dancing in a Texas-style honky-tonk. It was first recorded by Asleep at the Wheel for their 1990 album Keepin' Me Up Nights. Brooks & Dunn covered the song and included it as the eighth track on their 1991 debut album Brand New Man. It was originally the B-side to their single "My Next Broken Heart" but became the duo’s fourth single and their fourth straight number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
A dance remix is included as the final track on their 1993 album Hard Workin' Man.
In 2019, Brooks & Dunn re-recorded the song with Midland for the album Reboot. They re-recorded it again in 2024 for Reboot II, this time with Halestorm.
The song helped popularize line dancing across the United States and is often seen as Brooks & Dunn’s signature tune. It was also their first crossover hit, reaching number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
George Strait covered the song during The Last Rodeo Tour. The music video was directed by Michael Merriman and filmed at the Tulsa City Limits nightclub in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Boot Scootin' Boogie debuted at number 73 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart the week of May 23, 1992.
