Executive Chamber of Andrew Cuomo: When Cuomo became the 56th governor of New York on January 1, 2011, his administration included the governor’s executive chamber and the heads of the state departments. His lieutenant governor was Kathy Hochul, a former U.S. Representative from New York’s 26th district. Hochul took over from Robert Duffy, who had served as lieutenant governor and was the former mayor of Rochester.
