Bolivia TV (BTV) is Bolivia’s state television network. It is a public company owned by the Bolivian government, based in La Paz, and broadcasts across Bolivia and worldwide. The station airs in high definition (1080i) and uses digital ISDB-T for its broadcasts, with its main channel and a second channel. It operates 72 terrestrial transmitters and offers online streaming as well.

History in brief
- 1969: Launched on August 30 as Televisión Boliviana (TVB), the country’s first TV station and a key government broadcaster.
- 1969–1984: Bolivia had a government TV monopoly. Private channels were legalized in 1984.
- 1980s–1990s: The network’s programming and editorial line often reflected the ruling government, sparking accusations of propaganda. It broadened coverage and began satellite and regional efforts.
- 2009: After the ENTB was liquidated due to debt, Bolivia TV was created to replace the old network. It started as Canal 7 and expanded with hundreds of relay stations to widen coverage.
- 2010s: Bolivia TV began digital television trials and moved toward HD broadcasting. By 2021, the network was broadcasting in high definition on its main channel and a second channel.
- 2010s–2020: The station adopted new branding and leadership shifts, especially during and after the Morales era. In 2020, it unveiled a fresh image and slogan to mark its 51st year.
- 2024: Bolivia TV signed a contract for political advertising worth millions of bolivianos, reflecting ongoing government use of the network for public messaging.

Programming and reach
- The main channel focuses on news, culture, documentaries, and national events, while the second channel airs sports and additional programming.
