Bob Holt (November 25, 1930 – March 19, 2004) was an American fiddler known for old-time music played for square dances. Born in Ava, Missouri, he developed a fast, energetic style, often playing his signature tune "Ninth of January" at up to 144 beats per minute for dancers. Holt performed from 1947 to 2004 and recorded for Rounder Records. In 1999, he received the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the United States’ top honor in folk and traditional arts, including a $10,000 award. He died in Ava, Missouri, at age 73.
