Kyle Bailey (basketball)
Kyle Jacob Bailey (born March 10, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, he is 6 ft 2 in tall and played as a shooting guard. At Santa Clara University (2000–2005), he set school records for most games (127) and minutes (3,897), and once held the single-season record for three-pointers attempted (198). He earned All-West Coast Conference First Team honors in 2002.
Bailey went undrafted in 2005 but began a pro career overseas, mainly in Germany, playing for BG Göttingen, ratiopharm Ulm, MEG Göttingen, EnBW Ludwigsburg, and BK Rīga. He was named Bundesliga North MVP in 2007 and MVP of the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga North in 2006.
After retiring as a player in 2012, he moved into coaching. He served as an assistant at Sun Rockers Shibuya in Japan from 2017 to 2022, then as an assistant with Gunma Crane Thunders in 2022–2023, and returned to Sun Rockers Shibuya as an assistant from 2023 onward. He took over as interim head coach midway through the 2024–25 B.League season, and was named head coach for the 2025–26 season. After an 11–19 start, he was released.
