Beta-mannosylphosphodecaprenol—mannooligosaccharide 6-mannosyltransferase (EC 2.4.1.199) is an enzyme that helps build mannooligosaccharides in the membranes of Mycobacterium smegmatis. It is also known as mannosylphospholipid-methylmannoside alpha-1,6-mannosyltransferase. Its systematic name is beta-D-mannosylphosphodecaprenol:(1->6)-alpha-D-mannosyloligosaccharide 6-alpha-D-mannosyltransferase. The enzyme transfers a mannose unit from beta-D-mannosylphosphodecaprenol to a growing alpha-D-mannosyloligosaccharide, forming a new 1,6 linkage and extending the chain.
