Bergþórshvoll
Bergþórshvoll, often called Bergthorsknoll, is a place in Vestur-Landeyjar, Rangárvallasýsla, Iceland. It is a key setting in the Icelandic saga Njáls saga, serving as the home of Njáll Þorgeirsson and the site of his family’s final burning. Archaeologists have studied the site: Sigurður Vigfússon dug there in the late 1800s, and Matthías Þórðarson conducted extensive excavations in 1927–1928 and again in 1931. The location lies at about 63.64°N, 20.33°W.
