Bdín
Bdín is a small municipality and village in Rakovník District, Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic. It has about 70 inhabitants. The name comes from the personal name Bda, meaning “Bda’s court.” Bdín lies about 15 km northeast of Rakovník and 39 km northwest of Prague, in the Džbán range. The area covers 2.12 square kilometers. The village sits at around 360 meters above sea level, and the highest point nearby reaches 476 meters. The upper course of the Bakovský potok stream runs through Bdín. The first written mention of Bdín is from 1318. The I/16 road runs along the southern border, linking the D6 motorway with Slaný and Mělník. There are no protected cultural monuments in the municipality.
