Bréguet 790 Nautilus
Bréguet 790 Nautilus was a French prototype three-seat coastal patrol flying boat built by Bréguet Aviation for the French navy. It had a high-mounted monoplane wing on a single-step hull—the wing was fabric-covered and the hull was all-metal. The plane was powered by a 720 hp Hispano-Suiza 12Xirs V-12 engine mounted above the hull, driving a pusher propeller. Two prototypes were made, and the first flight was in 1939. It performed well enough to warrant an order for 75 aircraft, later reduced to 45 in May 1940 to free production space for fighters, but none were completed because of the German invasion.
