Basena Moses
Moses Basena (born 25 November 1967) is a Ugandan football coach and former player. He was born in Buikwe, Uganda. Basena played as a midfielder and later as a right back for clubs including Tobacco FC, Coffee FC, and SC Villa. His top-level playing career lasted from 1987 to 1994, and he helped SC Villa win the Uganda Premier League in 1990, 1991 and 1993.
After retiring as a player, Basena became a coach. He has managed many clubs in Uganda and East Africa, such as Sunrise FC, SC Villa, Express FC, Uganda Revenue Authority SC (URA), Kampala City Authority FC (KCCA), and Simba SC in Tanzania. He has also taken roles with the Uganda national team, including serving as an assistant coach.
Basena is known for a disciplined, tactically flexible coaching style. He emphasizes solid defense, good ball retention, and adapting his plans to fit his players and opponent weaknesses.
