Barbara Lusch
Barbara Anne Lusch (born October 26, 1957) is an American jazz singer and actress from Portland, Oregon. She studied at Oregon State University and began her career in film with Unhinged (1982). On stage, she played Chava in the 1985 Atlantic City run of Fiddler on the Roof opposite Theodore Bikel.
Lusch has appeared on television in Coach (1989), The Trials of Rosie O’Neill (1990), and Nowhere Man (1996). In the mid-1990s she sang with the Portland band Pepe and the Bottle Blondes before starting a solo jazz career in 2002. Her self-titled debut album came out in 2005, followed by Surprisingly Good for You in 2006. She has performed in Portland and at New York City’s Metropolitan Room.
In 2014 she released Rock Me Sweet, an album of jazz interpretations of 1980s pop and rock songs, recorded at Capitol Studios. She had a supporting role in Pretty Broken (2018) and a small part in My Dead Friend Zoe (2024). Lusch is the daughter of Peggy (née Stoecklein) and Roy Lusch, a dentist.
