Baltic Peak
Baltic Peak is a mountain in the Sierra Nevada foothills of El Dorado County, California. Its highest point is 5,078 feet (1,548 meters) above sea level, with a prominence of 358 feet. The peak sits near the small community of Grizzly Flats. A dirt path branching from the Mormon Emigrant Trail, about 3.4 miles from Jenkinson Lake, leads to an abandoned lookout on the summit. On the north face there is a gold mine that was built in 1896 and closed by 1907. In 1931, Baltic Peak Lookout, an 80-foot-tall steel lookout tower, was built on the mountain at an elevation of 5,046 feet. The easiest way to reach Baltic Peak is by a 4x4 vehicle.
