Bob O'Shaughnessy
Bob O'Shaughnessy was an American basketball player born on February 2, 1921, in San Jose, California. He was 6 feet tall and weighed 175 pounds. He attended C. K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento and played college basketball at the University of Nevada, Reno, from 1942–43 and 1945–47. His college years were interrupted by service in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, where he flew over 50 missions against Japan, mainly in the Philippines. After the war, he returned to Nevada and also played track and baseball.
O'Shaughnessy played professionally for the Syracuse Nationals in the National Basketball League during the 1947–48 season, averaging 4.0 points per game. He later played for the Utica Olympics in 1948.
He passed away on September 5, 1995, in Lihue, Hawaii, at the age of 74.
