Balsfjorden

Balsfjorden, also known as Báhccavuotna in Northern Sami, is a fjord in Troms county, Norway. It is about 57 kilometers long and 2 to 7 kilometers wide. The fjord runs north–south through Balsfjord Municipality and Tromsø Municipality. It branches off the Tromsøysundet strait just south of the city of Tromsø. The E8 goes along most of the eastern shore, and the E6 runs along the southern end. Storsteinnes lies on the southwestern coast, and Nordkjosbotn is at the southeastern end.
