Koutaro Nishiyama
Koutaro Nishiyama is a Japanese voice actor and singer from Kanagawa Prefecture. He was born on October 11, 1991, in Yokohama and is affiliated with 81 Produce. He has voiced characters such as Atsushi Kinugawa in Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!, Sakutaro Kirara in Jewelpet: Magical Change, Kazunori Uesugi in Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note, Yoshiharu Hisomu in Kiznaiver, and Ryūichi Kashima in School Babysitters.
In 2018, Nishiyama won the Best New Actor Award at the 12th Seiyu Awards.
Early life and training: Nishiyama wanted to use his voice since elementary school. In junior high, a friend encouraged him to pursue acting. In high school, he joined a Creative Course focused on voice acting and broadcasting. In 2009, he competed in NHK’s nationwide high school broadcast competition and won a special award at the 3rd 81 Audition, which led him to enter 81 Produce’s training program. He joined the company in May 2011.
Other activities: In 2015, he helped form the entertainment group Ooimachi Cream Soda with Reona Irie and Yuu Taniguchi, and the group performs in stage plays. He published his first book in 2016, Nishiyama-san Chi no Koutaro-kun, and a photo essay in 2017 called Tarorizumu. In 2020, Nishiyama debuted as a singer with the Lantis label, releasing the mini album CITY.
