The BS7H Scarborough Reef DXpedition was an amateur-radio mission to Scarborough Reef from April 29 to May 6, 2007. It was cut short at the request of the Chinese government. The trip was authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Sports Commission. The team included 17 people from 7 countries, with 4 operators on duty at a time in 8-hour shifts, resting on their vessel between shifts. To keep the stations in place during high tide, four wooden structures were built on the rocks. They operated on 10–160 meters using CW, SSB, and RTTY, and logged 45,820 contacts, making Scarborough Reef a rare and sought-after location for radio amateurs.
