Shingo Murakami (Murakami Shingo) is a Japanese singer, presenter, variety star, and actor. Born January 26, 1982, in Takatsuki, Osaka, Japan, he plays keyboards for the male idol group Super Eight, which used to be called Kanjani Eight. He started his entertainment career after a classmate suggested he audition for Johnny’s Jr.; he passed and soon appeared on KinKi Kids’ Christmas Live with You Yokoyama and Subaru Shibutani, helping form Kansai Juniors. Kanjani Eight formed in 2002 and released their first CD in 2004. Murakami held a solo concert in Osaka in December 2006. In 2008, he and Shibutani produced and performed a two-person stage show, “Mitei Ichi,” and have continued performing it since 2009. He became a Proactiv advertising character in 2010 and, in 2014, served as a TBS caster for the FIFA World Cup: Brazil Games with Koji Kato. JASRAC’s database lists him as the artist Shingo Murakami.
