Repubblica (Milan Metro)
Repubblica is a Milan Metro station on Line 3. It is underground under Piazza della Repubblica in central Milan. The station has two tracks and a single island platform, and it is accessible.
Construction began in 1984, and the station opened on 1 May 1990 as part of the initial Line 3 section between Duomo and Centrale. At first, Duomo and Centrale were connected by a shuttle; when Line 3 extended to Porta Romana on 16 December 1990, full service started.
Since 1997, Repubblica is connected to the Milano Repubblica railway station on the Milan Passante railway, providing easy transfers to regional trains.
The area around the station has many luxury hotels and offices, including the Revenue Agency, the Land Registry, the Cozzi pool, Palazzo Dugnani, and Lombardy Region services offices. The station is in STIBM fare zone Mi1.
