Atsuhiko Mori
Atsuhiko Mori is a former Japanese football goalkeeper born on May 31, 1972, in Hyogo, Japan. He spent most of his career with Yokohama Flügels from 1991 to 1997, playing 107 league games for the club, then had a short spell with Consadole Sapporo in 1997, where he appeared in 5 league matches.
Mori became the Flügels’ regular keeper when the team joined the J.League in 1993. He was known for his dreadlocked hair, which earned him the nickname “Reggae-kun” from fans. With Flügels, he helped win the Emperor’s Cup in 1993 and the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994–95. In August 1995, after a 6–0 loss to Urawa Red Diamonds, Mori argued with a referee and received a three-month suspension. During that time, rookie Seigo Narazaki took over as the first-choice goalkeeper. Mori briefly returned in the 1996–97 season but never regained his starting spot and left for Consadole Sapporo, where he played only five games before retiring at 25.
Off the field, Mori married Misaki in 1995, and they have a daughter born in 1996. After retiring from football, he opened a Tokyo bar called Rock Steady and works as a DJ, often playing reggae and other styles. In 2005, he co-founded the fashion brand Wacko Maria with former player Keiji Ishizuka.
