Athanasios Fragkou (Greek: Αθανάσιος Φράγκου/Φράγκος) (1864–1923) was a Greek army officer who reached the rank of Major General. He was born on 1 January 1864 in Sourpi, then part of the Ottoman Empire (now in Greece).

He joined the Hellenic Army in 1883, attended the NCO School, and graduated in 1893 as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. Fragkou fought in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897 and in the Balkan Wars.

A monarchist, he was dismissed from the army from 1917 to 1920 during the National Schism. After the monarchist victory in November 1920, he was reinstated and took command of the 1st Infantry Division in Anatolia. He led this division in the Greco-Turkish War of 1919–1922, playing a key role at the Battle of Dumlupınar in August 1922 by rallying the collapsing Greek forces. He formed the remnants of I and II Corps into the so-called "Southern Group" and led their retreat to Çeşme, after which they were evacuated to the islands of Chios and Lesbos.

Following the Venizelist-led Revolution on 11 September 1922, Fragkou was dismissed from service. He died on 20 September 1923 at the age of 59. His awards included the Commander of the Order of George I, the Order of the Redeemer, the Cross of Valour, and the Medal of Military Merit.
