AstroGrid
AstroGrid was a £7.7 million UK project that built a shared data grid for astronomy and contributed to the International Virtual Observatory. It released its first full production version on 1 April 2008 and ran in three phases from 2001 to 2009. When it ended, many in the astronomy community regretted its early closure.
