Astro Plan, also known as Space Adventures in Chinese, is a Chinese science fiction animated series created by the Guangzhou toy company Xing Yuan. It aired on Hunan TV’s Golden Eagle Channel in January 2010 and ran for 26 episodes, finishing in February 2010. The show is often described as China’s first sci-fi animation.

Set in the year 2735, humanity has begun exploring space after Earth’s environment deteriorates. The Space Migration Fleet encounters an alien race from the planet Iccus, who want to dominate the galaxy. To defend humanity, six young pilots join the Sky Arrow Flight Team and pilot six transformable Type Yi fighters (three YF-10s and three YF-11s). Each fighter can become a robot and a hybrid “Falcon” mode, and comes with weapons, a unique livery, and an “Ultimate Skill.” There are other Type Yi fighters in the fleet as well, though they appear less often.

The series is intended to teach children aged 6–14 about justice and peace and to promote Chinese animation culture. The YF-10 and YF-11 fighters resemble China’s PLA jets, the J-10 and J-11, respectively. Astro Plan also served as a vehicle to promote a line of transformable toys by HyperWiz, including six Type Yi fighters in multiple sizes. The toys feature a Macross-inspired insignia, and HyperWiz released transformable model kits; bootlegs have appeared in China and parts of Asia. HyperWiz has warned consumers how to tell authentic toys from counterfeit ones.

Reception among viewers has been mixed, with some expressing limited interest and others criticizing aspects of the animation quality and voice acting.
