Premio Bancarella
Premio Bancarella is an Italian literary prize that began in 1953. It is awarded in Pontremoli each year on the last Saturday or the last Sunday in July. Six books are chosen to compete for the Premio Selezione Bancarella, and the winner is decided by booksellers’ votes. The prize ceremony takes place on the final evening. The Premio Bancarella reached its 72nd edition in 2024. A complete list of winners up to 2023 exists.
In 2006, the Premio Bancarella della Cucina was created. It is awarded by the Fondazione Città del Libro together with the Accademia Italiana della Cucina to promote Italy’s cooking traditions and heritage.
Other prizes awarded in Pontremoli alongside Bancarella include the Premio Bancarellino and the Premio Bancarella Sport.
