Astrid Sverresdotter Dypvik, born October 19, 1977, is a Norwegian journalist and historian. She led Norsk Målungdom, the youth wing of the Language Organisation of Norway, from 2000 to 2002. She was born in Lensvik, Agdenes Municipality. She earned a master’s degree in history from the University of Oslo, with a thesis on German postwar history. As a journalist, she has written for Morgenbladet and Klassekampen, and served as op-ed and debate editor for Klassekampen. She later worked for Nationen and has served on the editorial board of the historical journal Fortid. Under her leadership, Norsk Målungdom worked to develop software for Nynorsk and, with the School Student Union of Norway, organized the “Student Strike for Nynorsk Data” on September 28, 2000, which involved about 30,000 students. In 2012 she published Det var DDR. Forteljingar om eit nedlagt land (This Was the DDR. Tales of a Land Shut Down), a book that uses personal stories to recount 40 years of East German history, including voices from both supporters and victims. The book was nominated for a prize for best nonfiction for adults.
