Arthur L. Carson (May 29, 1895 – April 11, 1985) was an American missionary and educator who served as the 3rd president of Silliman University in Dumaguete, Philippines, from 1939 to 1953. He was born in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, and studied at Pennsylvania State College and Cornell University. Carson worked as a missionary for the Presbyterian Church’s Board of Foreign Missions.

From 1921 to 1939 he was in China, doing agricultural work in Weixian, Shandong (1923–1926), and later directing the Rural Institute of Cheeloo University in Jinan (1931–1939). In 1939 he moved to the Philippines to lead Silliman University, following Roy H. Brown and preceding Leopoldo T. Ruiz. During World War II, he joined the Philippine resistance and continued his missionary activity in the Malabo area of Valencia, Negros Oriental.

After leaving Silliman, Carson served as Director for the Church World Service in the Philippines (1962–1963) and as President of Trinity College of Quezon City (1963–1967). He also wrote Silliman University, 1901-1959 and Higher Education in the Philippines. Carson died on April 11, 1985, in New York City.
