Arthur Brand
Arthur George Brand (1 May 1853 – 9 January 1917) was a British Liberal politician. He was the third son of Henry Brand, 1st Viscount Hampden, and the younger brother of Henry Brand, 2nd Viscount Hampden. His mother was Eliza, daughter of General Robert Ellice. He entered Parliament for Wisbech in a 1891 by-election and served as Treasurer of the Household in the Liberal government of the Earl of Rosebery from 1894 to 1895. He lost his seat in the 1895 general election, but won it back in 1900. In late 1902 he told his local party he would not stand again, but he remained MP for Wisbech until the 1906 election. He married Edith Ingram in 1886; they had one son, Captain Henry Arthur Trevor Brand of the 12th Royal Lancers, who married Elsie, daughter of Canon Mark James. Edith died in April 1903. Arthur Brand died in January 1917, aged 63.
