Centennial High School (Frisco, Texas)
Centennial High School, commonly known as Frisco Centennial, is a public high school in Frisco, Texas. It is part of the Frisco Independent School District and serves students in grades 9–12. The school opened in 2003 to help with growth in the district. About 2,035 students attend (2023–24), with a student-teacher ratio around 15 to 1. The campus is at 6901 Coit Road, Frisco, TX 75035. Colors are red and blue, and the Titans are the mascot. The principal is Kiara Henderson. Centennial competes in UIL Class 5A athletics and has a rivalry with Liberty High School.
Centennial grew quickly after it opened. By 2006 the school was over capacity, leading to the opening of Liberty High School to relieve crowding. In 2011–12, the district added new wings to lift capacity to about 2,100. Enrollment peaked at about 2,190 in 2013–14. In 2014 some students were moved to Independence High School to keep class sizes small. Lebanon Trail High School opened in 2016, lowering Centennial’s enrollment. Today the attendance zone is settled.
Demographically (2023–24), about 55% of students are Asian, 25.5% White, 8.8% Hispanic/Latino, 6.7% African American, 0.44% American Indian/Alaskan Native, and 3.6% Multiracial. About 9.8% qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
Academically, Centennial has received strong ratings from the Texas Education Agency, including an A in 2022 and ongoing high performance with Exemplary ratings in several years. Students score well on college admissions tests, with average SAT around 1202 and ACT around 27.6 (2025). The school also has National Merit recognition, with finalists and commendations in 2024. In 2024–25, Centennial students took 3,712 AP exams, with 89% earning a score of 3 or higher.
In April 2025, during a District 11-5A track and field championship at a district stadium, a Centennial student was asked to move to another section and fatally stabbed another student. The suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
