Arnold Green (rugby league)

Arnold Thomas Green (21 May 1933 – 23 September 2016) was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand. He played on the wing or at centre, and was part of Runanga in the West Coast Rugby League, also representing the West Coast team. In 1955 he played for the West Coast against France. In 1956 he starred for the South Island in the inter-island match and was then selected for the New Zealand national team tour of Australia, becoming Kiwi number 364. He did not play in any Test matches but appeared in seven of the tour’s 15 games and scored seven tries. Outside of rugby, Green was a coal miner on the West Coast and later in Huntly. He died in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia, on 23 September 2016, aged 83.
