Szymon Josiah Borzestowski, known as Szymon, was an Australian musician born on 18 February 1989 in Newcastle. He began working on his debut album, Tigersapp, in 2007 when he was 18. Recording paused in early 2010 due to mental health issues. He died by suicide on 2 December 2012 at the age of 23. After his death, EMI producer Mark Holland finished mixing the songs, and Tigersapp was released in August 2015. The album was nominated for the 2015 ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album and debuted at number 21 on the ARIA Albums Chart. His younger brother Dom, also known as Donnie, is the drummer for the Australian indie rock band Gang of Youths.
