André Mangeot is a British poet, short-story writer and novelist. He has published three poetry collections and two books of short stories, and his work has appeared in The Spectator, New Statesman and the Times Literary Supplement. For ten years he was part of the poetry performance group The Joy of Six, which performed at many UK festivals. He has written three novels, though they have not yet been published. Mangeot travelled widely in his thirties and forties, and this experience shows in his fiction. He names Graham Greene, Paul Theroux and John le Carré as influences. Of French origin, his paternal grandfather was a celebrated violinist with the same name. He was born in Gloucestershire and grew up in Kent, Yorkshire and Suffolk before going to Oxford University. He now lives in Cambridge and has spent many years working in charity fundraising alongside his writing.
