Anaconda (film series)
Anaconda is an American horror film series about giant man-eating snakes. It started with Anaconda (1997), followed by Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004). The franchise later expanded to three TV sequels—Anaconda 3: Offspring (2008), Anacondas: Trail of Blood (2009), and Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (2015), which crosses over with the Lake Placid film series—and a meta-reboot, Anaconda (2025).
The stories typically follow groups of people who must survive or stop the massive snakes in remote jungles or dangerous environments. Recurring ideas include the Blood Orchid plant and the fictional Wexel Hall Pharmaceuticals, which link many of the films’ events.
In addition to the main films, there is a 2024 Chinese remake of the original story, released internationally as Anaconda: Cursed Jungle. The series has also spawned tie-in media such as a novel and several promotional video games.
