American School of Bangkok
American School of Bangkok (ASB) is an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, with two campuses: Sukhumvit and Green Valley. Opened in 1983, it offers Pre-K through Grade 12 and follows a U.S. curriculum that emphasizes inquiry-based learning, project-based learning in middle school, and Advanced Placement (AP) classes in high school. ASB is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the Thai Ministry of Education, and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment, and it is a member of EARCOS.
The school serves students from about 40 nationalities. The Sukhumvit campus is in the Watthana District, and the Green Valley campus is in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. ASB’s motto is “The School of Leaders,” and its colors are red, navy, yellow, and white.
Leadership includes Chairman Lakhana Didyasarin; the principals are Connie Kim (Sukhumvit) and Nisanart Dharmageisirattana (Green Valley).
Athletics are strong at ASB. The school competes in BISAC and TISAC, fielding teams in many sports. The basketball program has won several championships, and the baseball teams have also won tournaments. At Green Valley, the International Preparatory Golf Academy (IPGA) trains more than 100 youth golfers each year, with over 40 students earning golf scholarships to U.S. universities.
In late 2022, the Sukhumvit campus was acquired by XCL Education (along with D-PREP International School) as part of XCL’s expansion in Thailand.
