Allègre is a small French town in the Haute-Loire department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of south-central France. It sits high in the hills, from about 880 to 1,172 meters above sea level, with an average elevation around 1,050 meters.

The area covers about 123.6 square kilometers. As of 2023, around 922 people live in Allègre, giving a low population density of about 39 people per square kilometer. The town is part of the Le Puy-en-Velay arrondissement and the Plateau du Haut-Velay granitique canton.
