Chile–Peru border
Chile–Peru border is the international border between Chile and Peru in South America. It runs about 10 km north of the Arica–La Paz railway, starting at the coast at the Arica-Elbow and moving northeast inland through the Andes to the Altiplano. The border was established in 1929 by the Treaty of Lima. The Bolivia–Chile–Peru tripoint is in the Ancomarca Plateau near the village of Visviri. Venezuelan migrants seeking to enter Chile avoid this border because it is more heavily guarded than the Bolivia–Chile border.
