Alessandro Murgia
Alessandro Murgia (born 9 August 1996 in Rome) is an Italian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga I club Universitatea Cluj, wearing number 11. He is 1.85 meters tall.
Murgia began his youth career at CS Colombo before joining Lazio’s academy in 2012. He made his Lazio first-team debut in September 2016 and scored his first goal for the club in October 2016. He helped Lazio win the Supercoppa Italiana in August 2017, scoring the winning goal against Juventus, and he also scored in Lazio’s 2017–18 Europa League win over Vitesse.
In January 2019 he went on loan to SPAL, and later joined SPAL on a permanent deal. He had a loan spell with Perugia in 2021–2022 and another with Hermannstadt in Romania from 2023 to 2025. In 2025, he moved to Universitatea Cluj.
Internationally, Murgia has represented Italy at the U18, U19 and U21 levels, making 14 appearances and scoring 1 goal for the U21 team.
Personal: He is brother-in-law to footballer Andrea Bertolacci through his sister Nicole, who is an actress.
